LETTER: Forgotten wallet elicits kindness at Pitt Meadows store

Who hasn't arrived at the cash register only to realize a wallet or purse has been forgotten

Dear Editor,
Last week I stopped at home for five minutes before going to the Pitt Meadows location of the Langley Market. As the cashier totalled my purchases, I suddenly realized I had left my purse at home. I asked if she could hold my order while I drove three blocks home to get my money. She  stated that my groceries were paid for – a total of $37.02.
I asked how and who?
It was a young man about 30 years of age behind me in line. I was so shocked I do not think I even said thank you. He disappeared in the crowd.
I gave a cash donation to the P.M. food bank the next day they were open as the only way I could think to thank him.
He is a credit to our younger generation. What a great future we have ahead with youth like him.
I.W. Swain, Pitt Meadows
