Hoping to build off the success of last year’s event, Haney Builders Supplies will once again be hosting its annual Haney Block Party event this weekend.

Drawing in people from all over Maple Ridge and surrounding communities, this event includes a wide variety of entertainment and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
Just like at last year’s inaugural Haney Block Party, there will be a building competition where woodworking enthusiasts will have two hours to team up and construct some furniture in front of a live crowd. Everyone who participates will receive a prize, with the winning team getting an additional grand prize of $500 worth of Meridian Meats as well as $500 in DEWALT tools.
But those who aren’t very handy with tools will still have plenty to do at the event, thanks to the many games and activities that will be set up, including a silent auction, vendor market, beer garden, food truck zone, and kid’s carnival section.

There will also be a stage set up, with three acts performing throughout the day.
First up will be The Canyon Riders, a local trio that plays a mix of rock and country, who will be on stage from 3 to 5 p.m.
Danielle Ryan, who performed at the first Haney Block Party, will then sing from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Also returning from last year’s event is Venus and Mars, who will close out the day with their performance from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
Out in front of Haney Builders Supplies, there will also be a car show happening throughout the day, with dozens of classic cars on display for people to enjoy.
The second annual Haney Block Party will take place at Haney Builders Supplies on Saturday, July 15, from 3 to 9 p.m.
