Over the weekend, the Maple Ridge Secondary wrestling team recorded some excellent results at the SFU War on the Floor, said longtime coach Bill McCrae.

Saturday the team’s novice wrestlers, those who haven’t placed at the B.C.’s, earned nine medals. Brothers Colby and Jackson Van’t Hullenaar led off with gold, as did Sophia Stark who didn’t even get a point scored on her.

Winning silver were Linden Sinow, Callum Ross, Ptolemy Knight, Eva Fuller and Bella Burner. Scottie White wrestled to a bronze finish.

On Sunday, the Ram’s elite wrestlers took to the mats with Tatyana Lagrange and Ashton Semko earning gold medals.

Semko’s feat was made even more incredible, as she just returned from Ontario at 3 a.m., where she had just won two tournaments with her club team.

Finishing second to an Alberta opponent was Zahara Adomi with Eva Fuller and Agnia Krakouska placing third.

Ridge wrestlers next compete with Westview this Thursday.
