Haney Neptunes host Canada Day water polo tourney in Maple Ridge

Host club teams win two gold medals and a bronze in annual competition

On July 1, the Haney Neptunes Aquatic Club hosted their annual Canada Day Invitational Water Polo Tournament.

There were 23 teams from seven clubs competing across five different age groups to make it the biggest tournament in recent memory.

The host Neptunes won gold in the 10 and under and 14U divisions, and also took bronze in the 12U division.

The White Rock Amateur Swimming Association teams won gold in the 12U division, and the Coquitlam Sharks place first in both the 16U and 18U divisions.

The water polo team has upcoming tournaments this month hosted by the Chilliwack Stingrays, Agassiz-Harrison Aquanauts, and the Abbotsford Whalers, then on Aug. 2-4 can compete at the Fraser Valley Regional Championships in Abbotsford, and provincials at UBC.
