Anyone who has ever been interested in working alongside their local police and helping keep their community safe will have a chance to do so at the upcoming Ridge Meadows RCMP volunteer recruitment information session.

Crime prevention unit supervisor Celina Dominelli explained that this information session will be a chance to recruit more individuals to join the Ridge Meadows RCMP volunteer base, which is currently made up of more than 50 people.

“We are looking for positive community-minded individuals who are looking to engage with and contribute to their community’s well-being,” said Dominelli.

She said that the volunteer information session on Jan. 26 will give attendees a better understanding of what different volunteer programs the RCMP offers, what is required to become a Crime Prevention Unit volunteer, and if being a Ridge Meadows RCMP volunteer is right for them.

“Volunteers can expect to participate in a number of crime prevention programs, such as the Integrated Safety Ambassador Team, Citizens on Patrol, Speed Watch, Bike Patrol, and Community Events,” said Dominelli.

“We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our team and we hope that you will reach out to us, to find out more about the Crime Prevention Unit and our volunteer opportunities.”
