B.C. has the best cities.
That is, according to a recent list of the most livable cities in Canada released by a national Canadian news organization.
In this list of the top 100 most livable cities in the country, the province of B.C. absolutely dominated the top of the list, making up more than half of the top 10 entries.
At the top of the list is Victoria, and not very far down is Pitt Meadows, which falls in at number nine.
Pitt Meadows Mayor Nicole MacDonald credited the high ranking to a number of factors, including the preserved small-town feel of the community.
“There are so many aspects that make this a vibrant place to live, from the small-town feel, beautiful natural spaces, local agriculture, amenities at our doorstep, and the special people,” said MacDonald.
“It is an incredible honour to be deemed the ninth most livable city in Canada especially when evaluated against 439 others and assessed on factors such as economy, safety, housing, and climate.”

She also said that while city council is thrilled with being ranked so high, they want to continue making Pitt Meadows an even better place to live.
“This is no easy task with rising costs, housing challenges, climate change, and the necessary upgrades and replacement of aging infrastructure,” said Mayor MacDonald. “The work continues.”
