Although the BC Summer Games are still more than half a year away, the Ridge Meadows Chamber of Commerce wants to help local businesses prepare for it by hosting a special themed Business After Hours event.

This will be the first networking event of 2024, with all members of the business community in Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows invited to attend.

Normally, these Business After Hours events provide an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to get together and network with one another while enjoying some tasty food and drinks.

But this upcoming one will have an added layer of benefit, as the chamber will share some tips on how local businesses can make the most out of the upcoming BC Summer Games.

The event kicks off at 5 p.m., with a 45-minute presentation taking place at 5:30 p.m., which will uncover strategies that businesses of every size can use to engage the community during the BC Summer Games.

Once the presentation has concluded, the networking will begin and a business card draw will take place that evening to determine which lucky business leader will get the opportunity to present a medal at one of the sporting events.

This networking opportunity will take place on Thursday, Jan. 18, at The Well in Chances Casino.

Tickets for the Business After Hours event are free for chamber members, and $10 for non-members. Anyone who is part of the Downtown Maple Ridge Business Improvement Association can also receive a promo code for free tickets by emailing events@downtownmapleridge.ca.

The 2024 BC Summer Games will run from July 18 to 21 in Maple Ridge.
