PHOTOS: Airport Day has turbulence-free return to Pitt Meadows Regional Airport

Hundreds of people gathered to play games, eat food, shop, and tour aircrafts

For the first time in three years, the community gathered at the Pitt Meadows Regional Airport last weekend to celebrate Airport Day.

Vendors, games, food, and plenty of airplanes were spread out across the airport’s taxiway on Saturday, with hundreds of people coming out to enjoy the festivities, making the event a massive success, according to event organizer Amanda Zannet.

“We had another wonderful event just bursting with families,” said Zannet. “We had the perfect weather, the most amazing volunteers, and of course wonderful participation from our vendors and aircraft owners.”

Both children and adults alike were able to get up close and personal with aircraft, and Pitt Meadows Fire and Rescue Services and Ridge Meadows RCMP were also on-scene to interact with the public and provide tours of their emergency vehicles.

“I love when a community can come together and provide a safe and fun experience for our families,” said Zannet. “We had a great turnout and look forward to hosting again in the future.”
