Maple Ridge Community Foundation gives away thousands in grants

Multiple community organizations received thousands in grants following the Maple Ridge Community Foundation’s annual ceremony on Monday, Dec. 11.

Representatives from 18 groups gathered at the ACT Arts Centre to receive their cheques ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 each.

The foundation is proud to announce that since the year 2000 they have granted more than $1 million to local non-profit organizations, “through our collaborative efforts as a community, and an unwavering commitment to create opportunities for all citizens to experience a high quality of life.”

The 2023 recipients are:

• Fraser North Farmers Market Society for their Winter Nutrition Program $2,500

• Maple Ridge Brain Injury Support Group for their Connect and Support Maple Ridge Program $3,000

• School District 42 Connex Alternate School for their student garden expansion $2,000

• Paws For Hope Animal Foundation for their Better Together Pet Program $2,000

• Alouette River Management Society for their youth engagement workshop $2,800

• Alouette River Management Society for a heritage rebuild $3,500

• Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services for seniors wellness $3,000

• Zajac Ranch for their Maple Ridge Campership Program $3,200

• One Way Club Society for their Affordable Meals Program $2,500

• Cythera Transition House Society for their Nurture with Nutrition $5,000

• Non-Judgemental Recovery Society for their Outreach Care Packs $5,000

• Family Education and Support Centre for their Family Leaf Drop Program $2,500

• Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Arts Council for their Teen Open Mic Night $2,500

• Athletics For Kids for their Sports4Life Program $2,500

• North Fraser Therapeutic Riding Association for their Therapeutic Stable Program $5,000

• Thomas Haney Boys Club Network for their Boys Club Network $5,000

• Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services for Alisa’s Wish Advocacy Program $3,000

• Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Community Services for their Restorative Justice Program $3,000
