McHappy Day fundraiser puts a smile on the faces of Maple Ridge youth

Next week, people will be able to eat at McDonald’s while also supporting a good cause thanks to the annual McHappy Day fundraiser.

For the third year in a row, one of the Maple Ridge locations will be raising money for both Ronald McDonald House BC and Foundry Ridge Meadows.

Sophie Lussier and her husband Rob Renaud, owners of several McDonald’s locations throughout the Lower Mainland, will be once again doing the McHappy Day fundraiser at their Maple Ridge location at 23981 Dewdney Trunk Rd.

On May 8, people will be able to stop by the fast food location and purchase a pair of McDonald’s socks for $5.

The money from these sock sales will be distributed to the Foundry Ridge Meadows and Ronald McDonald House BC, which each organization getting 50 per cent.

Donations will also be accepted at both the Maple Ridge McDonald’s location and the main reception desk at the Foundry Ridge Meadows.

Alicia Erenli, Foundry Ridge Meadows and Youth Housing Program manager, said that they were very grateful to Sophie, Rob, and their entire team for once again supporting the Foundry with their fundraiser.

“Over the last two McHappy Days, over $7,000 has been donated to our Foundry Ridge Meadows program,” said Erenli. “This donation speaks to how Sophie and Rob are dedicated to supporting young people in our community.”
