A crash had a major artery in Maple Ridge closed in both directions Friday afternoon.

Just after 5 p.m. Maple Ridge firefighters, paramedics, and RCMP were called to a crash along Lougheed Highway.

Ridge Meadows RCMP had traffic detouring around the crash, that took place just east of 272nd Street.

Initial reports indicated a person was trapped and an air ambulance was called.

However, it is unclear if the air ambulance attended the scene or if anyone was injured.

A black pickup truck could be seen at the scene of the crash with damage to its driver’s side.
